North Beach — Little Italy
San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood is also known as "Little Italy."  Filled with cozy Italian restaurants, outdoor cafés and coffee houses, unique shops, bustling Broadway nightclubs and bars, it's no wonder that North Beach is one of the city's most popular hangouts — and a great place for people-watching! Every Summer, locals and visitors alike come to the North Beach Festival  — one of San Francisco's oldest Italian street fairs.

1. North Beach Restaurants,

2. Saints Peter & Paul Church
Visit Saints Peter & Paul Church — a historic landmark that dates back to 1884. Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio had their wedding pictures taken here after their City Hall wedding. The church is located at Washington Square Park.

3. Washington Square Park
This tranquil grassy park is located in Washington Square, in the heart of North Beach. The park, lined with Italian restaurants and coffee houses, is frequented by tourists and locals alike — it's a fun place to hang-out, relax, and people-watch. It's filled with people during the annual North Beach Festival.

4. Coit Tower
and Observation Deck

Coit Tower sits atop Telegraph Hill in the heart of San Francisco, near North Beach. The 210-ft. tower offers magnificent views of the city from its Observation Deck.

Coit Tower Murals, protected as a historical treasure, can be viewed inside the first floor of Coit Tower — the murals depict working life in 1930s California.

5. City Lights Book Store
Co-founded by poet/painter Lawrence Ferlinghetti in 1953, City Lights is a landmark independent bookstore and publisher that specializes in World Literature, the Arts, and Progressive Politics. City Lights is located at 261 Columbus Avenue.

6. Beach Blanket Babylon
Beach Blanket Babylon is a "must-see" San Francisco Musical Extravaganza. It's the longest-running, biggest Hit Musical Review in theater history. And when you see it, you'll know why — it's one-of a-kind and you'll talk about this show for years!

7. The Beat Museum
The Beat Museum is a great place to find out everything you always wanted to know about the Beat Generation, Beatniks, Hipsters and Hippies — and the era that changed the world.

8. Broadway Nightclubs & Bars
and Adult Entertainment
Broadway, a popular San Francisco hot spot, features a variety of Nightclubs, Restaurants and Bars. Famous for it's adult entertainment in the 60's, Broadway still boasts a thriving nightlife. The action starts after 10pm at most of these Hot Clubs. Expect long lines, especially on weekends.

9. Molinari Delicatessen
373 Columbus Avenue

This popular Italian North Beach Deli — a San Francisco institution — has been around "forever." Stop by and pick up a gourmet made-to-order focaccia sandwich or picnic lunch-to-go and — the deli carries a fantastic selection of imported cheeses, meats (wonderful prosciutto and salami), fine wines and more... The place is always crowded, but it's worth the wait :)

10. Cobb's Comedy Club
For over 20 years, Cobb's Comedy Club has been one of the top clubs in the country for stand-up comedy. Catch one of these fun Comedy Shows during your next visit to San Francisco. Cobb's Comedy Club is located at 915 Columbus Avenue, just north of Lombard street.
