Palace of Fine Arts

Palace of Fine Arts
The Palace of Fine Arts was built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific
International Exposition and restored to its original splendor in
1967. Today, it is one of San Francisco's most spectacular backdrops
especially for wedding pictures.
Picnic Lunch
On weekends, the swan-filled
lagoon and grassy area is an ideal place to relax, picnic, read
a book and people-watch.
Stop by Luca Deli on Chestnut (it's been around since 1929) and pick up all fixings for a picnic lunch — they have fantastic deli food and can make up delicious sandwiches-to-go (you can even order online). They also offer a variety of salads, sides and beverages.
Two of our favorite San Francisco picnic places include the grassy area overlooking the water and the Palace of Fine Arts and the Marina Green (overlooking SF Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz).
Exploratorium
Science Museum
The Palace of Fine Arts landmark previously housed the Exploratorium
Science Museum the "hands-on" Museum
of Science, Art and Human Perception.
