S.F.'s only Five-Star Restaurant
Chef Gary Danko's critically-acclaimed 65-seat eatery is the only
Five-Star restaurant in the city. It boasts a prestigious Relais
& Chateaux designation
and is a past winner of the

Beard Award as "Best New Restaurant in America."
Food
Award-winning sophisticated classic California-French cuisine includes
a wide variety of dishes, offered in three-to-five course settings.
Portion sizes are adjusted accordingly depending on the number of courses
ordered a perfect way to sample a selection of Danko's
creations without overeating.
Standouts include: Seared Ahi Tuna with Avocado, Nori, Enoki
Mushrooms and Lemon Soy Dressing, Roast Maine Lobster with
Chanterelle Mushrooms, Horseradish Crusted Salmon Medallion
with Dilled Cucumbers, Seared Sea Scallops with Truffles
and Leek Potato Purée, and Herb Crusted Loin of Lamb
with Winter Vegetable Tian and Farro Risotto.
Cheesecarts featuring up to 20 selections of Imported and
Domestic Cheeses are presented tableside. What a treat! The last time we
experienced such an impressive selection of cheeses
was during our last visit to Paris.

Whatever you do, save room for dessert. The Baked Chocolate
Soufflé with Two Sauces is yummy! And if you really
want to create a "flaming" sensation, order the Flambéed
Pears with Cornmeal Crepes, Toasted Almonds and Vanilla Ice
Cream, prepared tableside for two or more people.
Exceptional wine selection the wine list is over
50 pages and includes over 1,400 fine wines. The Cosmos are pretty
terrific too!

The restaurant's adjoining dining rooms have sleek
interiors and an elegant understated ambiance ideal settings
for business dinners and special events. Full bar they make
a mean Cosmo!

Reservations
Reservations are essential. Make them well in advance, especially
if you're trying to get in on a Friday or Saturday night.
Food is also served at the bar a good alternative
if you can't get a reservation.
Parking
Valet parking is available. Street parking or nearby Ghirardelli
Parking Garage.
Service
Excellent service. The waitstaff are extremely knowledgeable and
friendly. Service is efficient, yet not rushed during our
last visit, we enjoyed a leisurely 3-hour dinner.
Prices
Expensive.
