World's
Most Famous Tree
Rockefeller
Center's annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony signals the
beginning of the Holiday Season in New York City
— it's one of the most exciting times to be in the Big
Apple. The world's
most famous tree represents everything great about the holidays.
The
Tree Lighting has been a New York City tradition since 1933.
Back
then, the tree had only 700 lights — today it has over
30,000.
Note: Rockefeller Center Christmas
Tree Lighting always takes place the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.
Rockefeller Center is located at Rockefeller
Plaza — West 48th Street to West 51st Street, between
5th and 6th Avenues.
