Greenwich Village
Greenwich Village — also known as the West Village — is one of our favorite areas in New York City. Conveniently located in Lower Manhattan, tree-lined Greenwich Village is dotted with historic townhouses, quaint little cafés, neighborhood restaurants, nightclubs and specialty shops. Greenwich Village is a FUN walking town — and great for people-watching!

Steeped in history, Greenwich Village was once home to famous writers, poets and artists, including Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, Norman Rockwell, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning... to name a few.

The Beat Generation started here in the 1950s — Bob Dylan, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsburg and Dylan Thomas frequented the area. Today, there are a few celebrities who reside in the Village — keep a look-out next time you're in the area.
